Who or what is lemonchess.com?

lemonchess.com is a project by the chess lovers at Blinklicht Medien — an independent web development and publishing studio based in Vienna, Austria.

With a strong focus on thoughtful design and digital craftsmanship, it's made for everyone who shares a passion for the game.

What sizes do the posters come in?

Our prints come in two sizes: 30×40 cm and 60×80 cm.

We do custom orders for other sizes, just shoot us a message.

Do you ship worldwide?

Not at the moment. We focus on local production to ensure the highest quality and to avoid the high costs (and environmental impact) of international shipping.

That said, if you're outside our shipping zone but are interested in our prints, feel free to reach out! We might be able to arrange a special delivery.

What kind of paper do you use?

All our posters are printed on premium 230g acid-free fine art paper with a matte finish. It's the kind of paper you'd expect in a museum—crisp details, rich tones, and made to last for decades.

Are frames included?

Framing is optional! We offer solid wood frames that have:

✔ 100% archival-quality, acid-free materials
✔ UV-resistant, shatterproof glazing
✔ A sturdy MDF backing for long-term durability
✔ Hooks to the back for easy hanging

How are the prints shipped?

Unframed prints are carefully rolled and packed in a sturdy 10 cm square tube. It’s tough enough to protect your print even if something heavy lands on top during shipping.

Framed prints are shipped in a cartboard box with plenty of bubble wrap so everything stays safe. Works 10/10 times.

How do I flatten the print when it arrives?

If your print has a strong bend (which is completely normal after being stuck in a tube for days) do this:

1. Unroll it gently and lay it flat
2. Cover with clean paper (for extra safety
3. Place a book or two on top
4. Let it sit for a few days

Please don’t use a “de-roller”—it might cause tiny cracks in the ink. A little patience goes a long way!

What if my poster arrives damaged or I got the wrong item?

Don't worry! If anything goes wrong, we’ll replace the item or give you a full refund, and we’ll cover all the shipping costs. Just reach out and we’ll sort it out fast.

If the package looks damaged upon arrival, please do not accept it! You have the right to decline visibly damaged packages. We'll sort it out with the carrier and send you a new package asap!

Can I return a poster if I change my mind?

Definitely. You have 14 days to return it—no questions asked. Just make sure it’s in the original condition. We charge a flat €20 shipping fee for returns.

Can I request a custom design?

Totally! Want a different color combo, a special font, or a custom chess position (like your best checkmate ever)? Drop us a message—we love custom work.

Can I upgrade the paper or finish?

Yes! While our standard paper is already top-tier, we offer even fancier upgrades if you're looking for something extra special. Just ask!

Where are the posters printed?

All our prints are printed in Austria and Germany. That means high-quality production and faster delivery within Europe.
